No One Is Asking Why

John Boehner “got his Irish up” last week when people rejected the budget plan put forth by Paul Ryan and Patty Murray: Boehner vented his frustration, saying the groups had “lost all credibility.” For some reason, Paul Ryan felt compelled to apologize to “conservative activist groups” for Boehner: Ryan adopted a more diplomatic tone in the interview, calling the groups “indispensable.” So it is business as usual in Washington, D.C. Our leaders do not defend their actions: they attack the people that they supposedly represent. How dare we question their hard work. How dare we not? There are few representatives and senators who are trying to save the country.
