★★Deadly Flash Freeze Death Toll Rising As Ice Storm hits East

A deadly "flash freeze" swept through much of the Northeast on Sunday, causing crashes that killed at least five people and forcing flight delays and closure of all bridges linking Philadelphia and New Jersey. But was it predicted by private or government officials and did NOAA drop the ball? The National Weather Service did not predict this storm. In fact, NWS issued a Freezing Rain Advisory for these areas after the roads started icing up, blaming models for underestimating the event.
