De Villiers Sends West Indies On The Leather Hunt During 2nd ODI

Latest News The 2nd ODI played between hosts South Africa and West Indies will be remembered for a long time to come. It was a busy day for the statisticians as records started to tumble once South Africa decided to pounce on the weak West Indies attack at the Wanderers yesterday. The main architect of the devastating innings against West Indies was South African captain AB de Villiers, who smashed three records on the way to complete his innings of 144 off just 44 balls. During the course of the innings, De Villiers set three new ODI records. The first record was to eclipse the fastest fifty, scored by Sanath Jayasuriya in 1996, which he had achieved of just 17 balls against Pakistan at a small Padang Sports Club in Singapore in 1996.
