We can't deny that half of every spin of our whirling planet plunges us into darkness. We also can't deny that if the grid were ever to go down we might not enjoy the artificial lighting that allows us to work, play, and detect threats in the darkness might disappear as well. I still feel that most folks that walk this earth do not truly understand complete darkness. In all but the most remote areas of the country the ambient light, or skyshine, is prevalent.
