During a routine inventory check at Paris' Pasteur, a renowned research institute in France, it was discovered that 2,349 samples of the deadly Sars coronavirus had gone missing. This is the same virus that was responsible for 774 deaths and 8,000 severe acute respiratory syndromes in 2002. The virus spread from China and on to other countries before it was eventually controlled. While it was openly admitted that the vials contained part of the virus, the institute was quick to ensure the public that the vials had 'no infectious potential', but many remained skeptical.
At this point the institute is not clear as to how the tubes vanished from the one of their safest laboratories.
General director of the Institute, Christian Bréchot said, "We’ve looked for those boxes [containing the tubes] everywhere! We went thought the lists of all the people who have worked here in the past year and a half, including trainees. We have scrutinized their profile to check if there was any conflict."
At this point Bréchot has not ruled out foul play, however he did claim that it was “highly improbable.”
While the company was aware of the loss back in January and searched for it for months, they failed to notify the public until now. The tubes themselves were stocked in a high-security laboratory and access to the lab was limited to a restricted number of personnel, who upon leaving, had to go through a disinfection process, which is why people are skeptical about the potential of the virus. They fear that it lie the hands of someone who could use it as a biological weapon.
Sars is an airborne virus that spreads similar to the flu or common cold. The Agency for the Safety of Health Products has opened an investigation into the missing tubes.
Could this be part of the fulfillment of Biblical Prophecy?
"...There shall be famines, and pestilences, and earthquakes, in diverse places. All the things are the beginning of sorrows." Matthew 24:8
Pestilences includes animal deaths, diseases, and environmental hazards. While these things have been an issues with every generation, in these last days per Biblical prophecy, there will be an increase in them. Currently there are major concerns about new diseases spreading like Sars coronavirus, AIDS, and drug-resistant strains of old diseases like tuberculosis. Furthermore radiation from radio, space junk, television, phones, and nuclear accidents, such as Fukushima, are adding to the growing problems of cancer, which affects a majority of the population today. Not to mention threats of war where biological agents can be used as a weapon, which is a possibility with the virus above.
According to the Bible the seven year tribulation will bring a great world-wide disaster beginning with the four horseman of the apocalypse.
"I watched as the Lamb opened the first of the seven seals. Then I heard one of the four living creatures say in a voice like thunder, “Come!” I looked, and there before me was a white horse! Its rider held a bow, and he was given a crown, and he rode out as a conqueror bent on conquest." Revelation 6:1-2
The white horse rider represents the coming Antichrist who is hell bend on conquest and world domination.
"When the Lamb opened the second seal, I heard the second living creature say, “Come!” Then another horse came out, a fiery red one. Its rider was given power to take peace from the earth and to make people kill each other. To him was given a large sword." Revelation 6:3-4
The second red horse rider makes war on the earth.
"When the Lamb opened the third seal, I heard the third living creature say, “Come!” I looked, and there before me was a black horse! Its rider was holding a pair of scales in his hand. Then I heard what sounded like a voice among the four living creatures, saying, “Two pounds of wheat for a day’s wages, and six pounds of barley for a day’s wages, and do not damage the oil and the wine!” Revelation 6:5-6
The third black horse brings with him famine.
"When the Lamb opened the fourth seal, I heard the voice of the fourth living creature say, “Come!” I looked, and there before me was a pale horse! Its rider was named Death, and Hades was following close behind him. They were given power over a fourth of the earth to kill by sword, famine and plague, and by the wild beasts of the earth." Revelation 6:7-8
The fourth pale horse rider brings with him death, pestilence, and sickness.
Could it be possible that this virus has something to do with the fourth horse rider in the future? We'll only time will tell. As of yet we are not in the tribulation, but the vial could be on hold until that time.
Either way, now is the time to get right with God.
