The Woodstock Hippie Jesus?

By Lyn Leahz 9/01/2013

How Does the Average Christian of Today See Jesus?

Unfortunately, many "Christians" of today see Jesus as the Woodstock, Hippie Jesus...their slogan, "Make Love, Not War!" In other words, not wanting to hear the truth because the truth might offend; rather, only tell people what they want to hear, or agree with them, even if it means sacrificing the truth. But John 8:32 says, "Then you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free.”

So here's the thing. Satan, the wicked, cunning, deceitful, arrogant liar that he is, knows just how to keep people from hearing the truth by persuading them to believe his lies. Then they will fall for his lies, and spend their lives miserable, never receiving the blessings the Lord has for them, never producing fruit, and what's more, possibly spending eternity in hell.

Friend, maybe this is the Jesus you serve, but I serve a God who wants me to tell the truth..and nothing but the truth! I will win the lost at any cost, regardless of offending someone. Do you know why? If a person is offended at that moment upon hearing the truth, oftentimes, you've planted a seed. Later on, when they are struggling with something, that truth you spoke will sprout up in their thoughts...they remember! You may not win someone at the moment you tell them..it might be later. I will never sacrifice the truth my God tells me to speak for the lies of Satan.

God is the same yesterday, today, and tomorrow. He never changes with the times, like we do. He expects the same reverence and respect He expected back in the days of Moses. He's the same God today that hated sin then. God does not conform. Jesus is God in the flesh. If you are a Christian, and you make mistakes, you have to repent..which means don't live in it...stop doing it. As long as we're in a body of flesh, we will make mistakes. God will get angry when we don't repent. He didn't come in a body of flesh and die to make it okay for you to sin. If you don't like it, get over it. I didn't write the Bible, God did through the Holy Spirit.

Sin is sin. When you sin, you can say it's not sin, and you can even say that Jesus understands, and that makes it okay...if you want. But I have news for you...when you kneel before God, you're going to be very surprised to find out God doesn't tolerate repetitive disobedience. God doesn't tolerate His bride having intimate relations with another man...Lucifer!

God loves you. Jesus loves you. Just as God dwelled in the Ark of the Covenant, (remember how strict He was about people being clean, and not touching the Ark if they were unclean?) He is living inside of you! Yes, if you have asked Jesus into your heart, your body is no different than the Ark of the Covenant that so many people in the Old Testament feared! They knew the power it contained, and they knew the obedience expected! God means business! Your body is the temple (or Ark of the Covenant, if you will) of the Spirit of the living God! What are you doing with yourself?

Do you think the Levites would sit on top of the lid at night and smoke cigarettes, or roll a joint? Do you think people fornicated and lusted near it, or on top of it? What I'm saying sounds almost blasphemous, doesn't it? Hmmm. If it does, consider what you're doing with your body, and then remember, your body houses the Spirit of God. Sin is NEVER okay. Jesus loves you very, very much..that is why He died for you...so you would have the power inside of you through His death and resurrection to overcome Satan and his dark forces! If Jesus did it, you can do it!

Again, I will reiterate, we will all make mistakes until we are freed from this flesh. However, the question is...are you getting out of the mud pit and washing yourself? Or are you staying in it...sinking in it....drowning in it....content with filth all over you as it seeps in through your nose, your ears, and your mouth? A little mud can be good for you at times...does wonders for the skin! (Just like our sin, when we repent, brings us closer to God! We learn from it!) But soaking in mud is only good for so long. You've done your wonders, now get out and get clean before it sucks you in! Because someday, my friend, you're going to want out..but by then, it'll be too late! Like quick sand, the mud will have sucked you in ... completely.

Serve God, or serve Satan? That is the question. There is no in between. I'm sorry. That's the way it is. If you come here wanting a little sugar or someone to fancy your ears, you've come to the wrong place. I'll pull at your emotion, I'll make you smile, and I'll make you mad. But I will not lie. You may disagree, you may hate me, you may think I'm way off...that's okay. I love you. I love you so much that I want to spend eternity in heaven with you. I don't want you to suffer. I don't want you to walk blindly through life thinking everything is okay spiritually for you, and then find out differently. God is going to look at you and say, "I don't know you." And when you say, "But Lord, I thought..." He's going to say, "It was all laid out in My Word! I sent people to tell you, but you would not listen!" Listen now! You're never going to be perfect. No one expects you to perfect. What we're talking about here are those things in your life you are putting above God! Those things you are living in that His Word clearly says you can't do.

Read this verse VERY carefully: Do you not know that the unrighteous will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived. Neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor homosexuals,[a] nor sodomites, 10 nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor extortioners will inherit the kingdom of God. 11 And such were some of you. But you were washed, but you were sanctified, but you were justified in the name of the Lord Jesus and by the Spirit of our God.

The unrighteous WILL NOT inherit the Kingdom of God. DO NOT BE DECEIVED! Then it explains various types of sin...again... saying "...will (not) inherit the kingdom of God. And such WERE some of you...but you WERE washed, but you WERE sanctified, but you WERE justified in the name of the Lord Jesus and by the Spirit of God. YOU WERE! WERE SOME OF YOU! This doesn't mean that you were this, but now you still do all these things, and just because you called on Jesus, you're considered sanctified, even though you fornicate, adulterate, etc. That's absurdity in its fullest form! It means that you are no longer to live this way...that when you called on Jesus you gave that up. You no longer do it. If you fornicate, you're a fornicator...you will not inherit the kingdom of God. If you commit adultery, you are an adulterer, you will not inherit the kingdom of God--unless you repent, which means to be convicted, admit it, apologize for it, and turn away from it! If you do not REPENT for it, you will NOT inherit the kingdom of God. I didn't say it. Re read the verse above. You tell me. And here's the thing. Satan has people so deceived, they think that while it's not okay, it's not necessarily going to send them to hell to continue living outside of God's will!

Don't think you can do it? Think again. It's all laid out in the Bible. Ephesians 6:10-20 outlines it well, and, the Bible also says in Isaiah 54:17, "No weapon formed against you shall prosper!" And it says in Psalm 46:10, “Be still, and know that I am God; I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth.” The Bible repetitively instructs us that we must reverence God, that we have victory through the blood of Jesus, and that we are to give up our SELF and let Jesus take the driver's seat. Put Him in control. That means you no longer do what you want to do...at all. Your life belongs to Christ. You sold the title and gave up the keys...it belongs to Him. Here's the good news, you no longer have to take care of repairs...He'll do it. You no longer have to worry about the insurance, He already paid it. You no longer have to worry about other drivers who tick you off, He's driving. You're just along for the ride.

I love you very, very much! And, God loves you even more. I don't know about you, but I want the people in my life to tell me the truth, even if it hurts. When someone lies to me or sugar coats something, that hurts me even more. I've lied, and I have been lied to quite a bit. I've been crushed by lies. Lying is not an act of love. Honesty is love. Think about it. Pray about it. I'll leave you with this:

Joshua 24:15, And if it seems evil to you to serve the Lord, choose for yourselves this day whom you will serve, whether the gods which your fathers served that were on the other side of the River, or the gods of the Amorites, in whose land you dwell. But as for me and my house, we will serve the Lord. (...and ONLY Him! Amen!)
