I've decided to write this article because I've been doing some critical thinking about this government shutdown and the decision to ban all access to federal land such as National Parks, roads, docks, private property on federal land, etc., and I've come to the conclusion that this could be the next step towards Martial Law. Think about it. If you were a tyrannical leader hell-bent on beating your subjects into submission through outright bureaucratic terrorism, and then use their fear against them to force them to give up their rights in the name of "safety", wouldn't the first thing you would do during a government shutdown is grab as much land as possible and deny access to that land to anyone that isn't part of your dictatorship? Then, when all of that land has been cleared of the peasants, wouldn't you start training your army of DHS soldiers and hundreds of thousands of other armed bureaucrats equipped with two billion rounds of hollowpoints, 2,700 MRAP vehicles, and a whole fleet of drones on that land?
