One employee suffered serious burns in a methanol explosion at Southern Energy, Lane Parkway, officials said today. The employee, whose identity has not been released, was loading fuel into a tanker when the explosion occurred, Fire Chief Ricky McConnell said. "The whole wall of the building suddenly blew off," James Brewer, who was standing nearby, said. Several Shelbyville firefighters said they heard the blast from the fire hall a block away.
