Is it really necessary to physically detain a non-violent criminal to begin with? Wal-mart's Loss Prevention "cop-wannabe's" with their radios and handcuffs should stand back a bit and make sure they are not about to get stabbed. If they have to physically restrain a person who resists, maybe they should just call the cops and report that the subject stole a pack of gum.
