by Daniel John Lee 1/23/14 According to this breaking story, the Chinese have conducted an extensive nuclear missile drill to warn the USA not to interfere in its ongoing island disputes with Japan and Taiwan. There’s just one problem. Japan and Taiwan are formal allies of the US, and the US is obligated by its treaties to defend both countries should any aggressor try to take land they own. The islands in dispute have long been claimed by Japan, Taiwan and the Philippines.
