'Republicans walked into a trap set up by Valerie Jarrett, Obama'
WND
WASHINGTON — The shutdown was deliberately orchestrated by the White House, according to the former foreign editor of Newsweek and editor-in-chief of the New York Times Magazine.
Why would the White House intentionally cause such pain and havoc across the country?
It is a ploy to win votes, concluded author Ed Klein.
He told the New York Post that President Obama’s closest adviser, Valerie Jarrett, developed a strategy to force a showdown with Republicans over Obamcare.
Jarrett recommended shutting down government because, Klein said, she believed voters would pin the blame on Republicans.
And that would give Democrats the opportunity to win control of the House of Representatives in the 2014 midterm elections.
Klein wrote a critical biography about Obama last year called “The Amateur.” He said he interviewed more than a half dozen White House and former presidential advisers about the shutdown plan.
Think you know the real Barack Obama? You don’t – not until you’ve read “The Amateur.”
He called Jarret the “architect” of the strategy of refusing to negotiate with Republicans over Obamacare.
“She convinced the president that a government shutdown and default offered a great opportunity to demonize the Republicans and help the Democrats win back a majority in the House of Representatives in 2014,” he explained.
“Valerie also came with the idea of using the words ‘hostage,’ and ‘ransom’ and ‘terrorists’ against the Republicans,” Klein maintained.
He said Jarrett’s advice to Obama was, “[D]o not cooperate one iota on Obamacare. Don’t give an inch. Let the Republicans stew in their own juice.”
Klein added, “Republicans walked into a trap set up by Valerie Jarrett and President Obama.”

Already, 15 members of Congress have discussed removal process
WND
A book described as “the first draft of the articles of impeachment against Barack Obama” has been distributed to all 435 members of the U.S. House, including the dozen or so who already have publicly admitted they have considered the idea.
The book, “Impeachable Offenses: The Case for Removing Barack Obama from Office,” by Aaron Klein and Brenda J. Elliott, argues that Obama already has violated multiple sections of the Constitution, including with his health care legislation (which it explains may be taxation without representation), that could qualify him for impeachment.
The delivery of the books, donated by publisher WND Books, was arranged by U.S. Rep. Steve Stockman, R-Texas, who previously told WND regarding the controversies surrounding Obama, “There’s a lot to look at and I think, at some point, if the smoking gun leads to the White House, we have to take action.”
He previously has considered the idea of removal:
It was back in January that Stockman wondered about pursuing impeachment if Obama implemented gun-control measures without congressional approval.
Stockman called such executive action “an existential threat to this nation,” because, “Under no circumstances whatsoever may the government take any action that disarms any peaceable person – much less without due process through an executive declaration without a vote of Congress or a ruling of a court.”
Obama did enact a series of relatively minor gun-control measures by executive order, after losing a fight in the Senate to expand background checks on gun purchases.
