The Toad That Ruled China

When Chinese netizens write posts about former Chinese Communist Party head Jiang Zemin, they refer to him as the “toad.” This is due to his toadlike appearance and the fact that China’s Internet is censored, so netizens have to use nicknames and codes to talk about politically sensitive topics, Epoch Times reported. Jiang launched the mass persecution of the Falun Gong spiritual practice in 1999, ordering the imprisonment and torture of countless innocent Chinese citizens. Needless to say, this did not make him very popular in China or elsewhere. Things are going downhill for him now.
