Strange dark saucer like object filmed on Mercury still baffles the "experts"

I was going through some old files tonight and I came across this picture. It was posted on Astronomy Picture of the Day on July 6th 2009. The above picture is of Mercury and below right embedded in a crater is a strange looking dark object. The dark object must be huge, roughly 10-kilometers long because the crater it sits in is 100-kilometers across.
