Deep 7.1 magnitude earthquake strikes 25 miles from Guam

September 2014 – GUAM - A magnitude 7.1 earthquake struck 25 miles northwest of Guam on Wednesday, the U.S. Geological Survey said. The quake struck at more than 100 miles deep, it said, after originally putting the magnitude at 6.9. The Pacific Tsunami Warning Center said no tsunami had been generated because the quake was too deep.
