Assange: Obama is an “extremist”

“He is a wolf in sheep’s clothing” said Assange about Obama. After hearing about the sentence of up to 136 years that stares in the face of the soldier Bradley Manning, accused of the biggest leak of classified documents in U.S. history, Julian Assange reacted rapidly and called him a “hero”, stating that he has not had a fair trial. The leader of Wikileaks said he will not rest until the accusations are nullified. “The government kept Bradley Manning in a cage, stripped and isolated to destroy him, an act formally condemned by the Special Rapporteur of the United Nations. This was never a fair trial,” Assange said in a statement released from the Embassy of Ecuador in London, where he took refuge more than one year ago. The founder of Wikileaks criticized President Barack Obama for his “extremism” in a matter of national security and warned that the sentence established by the military judge sets a “dangerous precedent” because for the first time the disclosure of true information to the media has been labeled as “spying” only because the revelations refer to the US government’s illegal activities. Assange did not confirm or deny whether Manning had provided classified documents to Wikileaks, always using the word “alleged” when referring to the leak.
