Good indicator? Jews are forbidden from working on the Sabbath so there was no slave trading on their "holy days" as they were the ones who did the buying AND the selling of human beings. Were there Arab and Christian slave traders? Yes, though their numbers pale in comparison to the Jewish slave traders.
