Now Florida Cops Targeted! Deputies Survive Drive-by Shooting

Apostle Islands – Northern WI & Western U.P. News, Information & Commentary Two Pasco County Sheriff’s Deputies were targeted by a drive-by shooter early Sunday in the central Florida town of Dade City according to the Tampa Bay Times. The deputies were parked in their respective squad cars in a church parking lot when three shots were fired at them from a passing vehicle around 3:30 a.m., according to the Pasco County Sheriff’s Office. The deputies said they heard the bullets as the passed near them. Neither deputy was wounded. The deputies did not ID the vehicle but neighbors reported hearing the shots and seeing a ‘small dark vehicle with tinted windows in the area at the time of the incident.’ The deputies’ names have not been released. The attempt on the lives of the deputies came hours after another Florida lawman killed in the line of duty was laid to rest.
