Bill Clinton: Bad To Spy World Leaders


Spying on world leaders: explicit rules needed - Bill Clinton




 






American ex-President Bill Clinton said he had "serious reservations" about wiretapping phone conversations or monitoring emails of world leaders while in the Oval Office. In an interview to American television Mr Clinton expressed his conviction the secret services had to rethink their modus operandi in the light of the recent information leaks and the NSA's spying after the foreign leaders.





"I think there ought to be very explicit rules on listening in on conversations of world leaders," Clinton said.


In the course of his presidency, that is, from 1993 till 2001, Mr Clinton was very cautious about choosing methods of spying after the foreign leaders.


"It depended on who they were," he told Jorge Ramos on Tuesday. "If we thought they were engaged in hostile acts against the United States...then [American agencies] might do it. But - I’m not sure - we didn’t have the capability then to do a lot of what’s being done today."

Bill Clinton's driving a wedge between himself and Barack Obama.


A few weeks ago he said it was wrong to promise that people would keep their health insurance and he told Obama to honour his pledge that they could keep the insurances.


It's good to see Democrats turning their backs on Obama and his Obamacare train wreck.
