Musings On The Finite Statist Machine Some authors use the term "density" rather than "dimension" which I think is closer to the concept of what is going on. When we say 3D we tend to think of X, Y, and Z coordinates of space on a graph, and it becomes hard to imagine an axis perpindicular to all those in 4D or 5D, although that is mathematically possible. Those I have talked to about the concept suggest its really a quantum like energy level, or perhaps better stated as an "octave" of energy and existence... much like music has octaves.
