What are the consequences when Christians back out of culture and take the path of least resistance? We have much less influence on morality, for one thing. Because of this, many of us no longer recognize America as the once-shining city on a hill; but what can we do about it now? We are losing battles in culture and in politics, and America is suffering the effects of decades of sin and Christian apathy. One reason we are seeing an increase of godlessness in our society today is because we have become too busy, comfortable, or distracted, forgetting God’s purpose for our lives. Revelation 3:2 says: It’s time to wake up and strengthen what remains and is about to die… Not only that; our religious freedoms are being threatened more every day.
