Severe Thunderstorms Overnight Likely

NationalWeatherForce.com has issued a Severe Thunderstorm Watch for the Eastern half of Kansas, excluding Southeast … effective now through Tuesday morning … Issued: 3/23/15 at 5:05pm CT A group of thunderstorms is expected to form across South/Central KS very soon as an upper disturbance moves into the region. Although daytime heating will diminish any real tornado threat, the southern end of the watch around Hutchinson and Pratt (between there as well) will have marginal surface-based instability and shear … with developing CIN … still this will bring that area the only chance of isolated tornado potential for this watch box. As for the rest of Kansas, expecting a group of thunderstorms to form and with the elevated CAPE values being acceptable, the lack of surface-based instability will mean these will be hail producers across Central/Northeast KS, including the Kansas City Metro areas overnight tonight and through early Tuesday morning. ----------------------------------------------------------------------- Grab our App for Android or IOS for these alerts directly to your area!
