238 Members Of House Write Letter To ATF Director Opposing Ban On Bullets For AR-15

More than half of the members of the House of Representatives signed a letter to the director of the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives (ATF) opposing the Obama administration’s effort to ban ammunition for the AR-15. The AR-15 is the most popular rifle in the United States. The White House said a ban on .223 M855 “green tip” bullets will help save police officers’ lives, The Washington Times reported. “We are looking at additional ways to protect our brave men and women in law enforcement, and believe that this process is valuable for that reason alone,” White House Press Secretary Josh Earnest said Monday. The ATF is currently taking public comments on the proposed ban. 238 members of the House have signed a letter to ATF Director B. Todd Jones opposing the ban on the ammunition.
