Try to imagine if Saddam Hussein had invaded a neighbor and then gone on TV and said that the American president was too “chickenshit” to respond as he should. Imagine if Obama put NATO troops into Ukraine and said Putin is too “chickenshit” to respond as he should. Obviously, such language intends to provoke a response, and cannot help any situation end peacefully or well. On October 29, we were told that a senior White House official commented to a correspondent for "The Atlantic" Magazine and referred to Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu as a "Chickenshit" because he allegedly refuses to stand up against his own political party and deal with the Palestinian Authority as the Obama administration wants him to.
