Who is the "Great Harlot of Babylon?"

Written in Greek by St. John the Evangelist on the island of Patmos in 96 AD, the Biblical Book of APOCALYPSE (a revelation of things that were, are and will be) is highly susceptible to misinterpretation due to the fact that many of its teachings are put forth in the form of symbols. One of the most haunting of these is the Great Harlot of Babylon, an utterly wicked madam who fancies herself a privileged queen as she wantonly and viciously poisons the nations with immorality, murder and diabolical possession. Nowhere else in world literature, Biblical or otherwise, can such a vile, toxic sorceress and witch be found.
