By Joseph Korson Isaiah 62:1 “For Zion’s sake will I not hold my peace, and for Jerusalem’s sake I will not rest, until the righteousness thereof go forth as brightness, and the salvation thereof as a lamp that burneth.” The main topic of conversation in Israel today is of course the war being waged against the forces of darkness manifest in the Islamic terror group of Hamas. I was just now speaking with friends and we all agreed that this war feels different than the conflicts we experienced before. When we analyzed the ‘why’ of this feeling we concluded that it was because of how completely twisted this conflict has become in the eyes of the world. While every Israeli knows deeply how this conflict is justified and how proud we are in the way our IDF forces have tried to preserve the lives of both Israelis and Palestinians we are bewildered at the outright and unjustified distortion of reality that is being portrayed in the west. We are dumbfounded at how our supposed closest ally is rewarding the genocidal terrorists in Gaza through a misguided truce.
