Detroit human rights defenders and other Americans begging for water were assulted Friday by a deployed military grade weapon, a Long Range Acoustic Device (LRAD) that caused pain, suffering and some to clutch their throats. Thousands of people converged in downtown Detroit to protest being deprived of water. They rallued against privatization of their city's assets and disconnecting of their water for tens of thousands of low-income residents. The United Nations has called Detroit's water crisis a human rights violation.
