Anthrax and Black Plague Found in Texas and Colorado

JULY 9th, 2014 - CONFIRMED CASE OF ANTHRAX FOUND TO CAUSE DEATH IN LIVESTOCK (Kinney County, Texas) Ranchers in South Texas are having a rough summer with disease and bacteria among livestock. One of the latest confirmations is anthrax, the first case of the bacteria this year in Texas. A goat in Kinney County has died from anthrax, the Texas Animal Health Commission confirmed June 30 on a premises located four miles north of Brackettville. Commission rules require proper disposal of carcasses and vaccination of other animals on the premises before they can be released from quarantine.
