$650,000 Plus Fine For Declining To Allow Gov’t Theft of Personal Property

Raisin farmer, Marvin Horne, owes $650,000 in unpaid fines plus 1.2 million pounds of unpaid raisins. Yes that is 1.2 million pounds of raisins. It seems that he refused to allow the government to steal his crop under a 1940′s law. The National Raisin Reserve determines how much or what percent of a years crop the farmer is allow to keep and the farmer must surrender the rest to the National Raisin Reserve. The Horne case has made it to the US Supreme Court and has been sent back to the lower court.
