Zimmerman Charges Downgraded: Second Degree Murder Dropped To Manslaughter

EDITOR NOTE: Was he overcharged by prosecutor in order to guarantee lesser charge? George Zimmerman, the man on trial for killing Trayvon Martin, is now facing a lesser charge of manslaughter when the jury begins deliberations. The judge recently agreed to instruct jurors to consider the charge, switching from the original charge of second degree murder. Judge Debra Nelson is also planning to rule on a request by the prosecution that a charge of third-degree murder be considered.
